Description

Vintage Gibson Tenor Ukulele 1 - If you look closely it has lovely celluloid binding front and back.
This is the same model used by Lyle Ritz on his icon 1950's recordings (although his was modified by a luthier to add a cut away and internal pick up).
The care, workmanship and the quality of wood that you find in vintage instruments like this is unparalleled. If you are familiar with vintage instruments, not only can you not find these kinds of woods anymore, but certain woods, like rosewood for the fingerboards are not even permitted today.
Body is mahogany throughout.  There is playing wear and checking as shown in the photos. There is a professionally repaired crack, braced internally with little wood triangles.  This is a common type repair present on some my other Martin and Gibson ukes and mandolins.  It is well done and has never been an issue in the decade I have been lucky enough to own this.
Recently restrung with Aquila Blue with the low G.  I have had it with the high G as well.  Sounds great either way!.
Ships in case pictured.
