Vintage 1972 Del Langejans Custom Luthier 12 String Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar
This instrument comes to me from the estate of the original owner and looks to be in excellent condition and aside from a few scratches, it is simply beautiful and the condition justifies the price. Serial number 10. Custom built by (owner's brother in-law) Delwyn "Del" Langejans in Holland, MI in 1972. Personalized presentation badge on back. Del's guitars are highly acclaimed and very well made, with a unique and very vibrant and deep tone. His instruments have been used by many artists such as the late Jerry Reed, Phil Keaggy, John Michael Talbot, Wes King, Buddy Greene, Bob Hartman (Petra), the late Dana Key and the late Kenny Marks. A family member told me the owner took lessons but really didn't play and this has been hardly used at all in the past 50 years. It has always been in clean dry main living level storage in case. Lower bow is 16" across, 43" total length. I played it some and it has a deep 'campfire' folk sound that only comes from a custom guitar like this. The neck is straight with no signs of separation - it has always had strings on it - one snapped when I was tuning it, sorry - yes I taped the broken string just to hold it in place. There are no signs of cracks or warping. The intonation is on pitch, the action is comfortable, the nut and bridge are secure, the heads hold fairly tight. New strings and setup is recommended. Outer case has some scuffs and scratches. US shipping only.
