Description
For sale is my vintage original circa 1965 Harmony H-162 flat top acoustic Guitar.I have had it for quit awhile, but we are down sizing and I must sell some of my guitars.
I do not know the exact year but every one I have seen like mine has said 1965.
It sounds great, super warm and resonant, a very cool recording guitar. The action is a little high, but plays well and rings out. Can probably be lowered with a little adjustment, but I am no luthier and did not want to change anything since I could play it easily as is.
The binding is disintegrating; again I did not want to do anything to negatively alter the guitar so I have left it as is. I have seen these guitars with the binding removed so this may be a typical problem. Either way, I will leave the decision up to the next owner weather to repair or remove.
The only other issue with this guitar is some sort of heat or chemical damage to the finish on the back. I have no idea what caused this, but it has not affected the sound or stability of the guitar in any way.
Other than the two problems mentioned above this is a very good, very solid guitar with no loose braces and no bridge bowing. It is practically new with no fret wear or finger board wear.
The guitar comes in a practically new soft case.
