Vintage Kay K-42 "Master Sized" Arch Top Acoustic Guitar Project For Restoration

Description

Up for auction is this beautiful old Kay acoustic guitar.  These large body "master sized" arch tops were sold for .50 in 1951.  This model sports a spruce top and curly maple back, sides, and neck.  These "professional" guitars were Kay's response to Gibson.  This guitar is for full restoration.  It is missing all of the necessary hardware.  There are brace ends that need to be reattached.  There appears to be one top crack that needs addressing.  The entire guitar was, at some point in its life, completely refinished by an amateur and the fretboard was covered in glitter glue.  To be restored to its original blonde finish this guitar would need to be stripped.  The neck appears firmly connected to the body.  This would be a wonderful project for a more advanced luthier.  Please view the photos, ask questions, and bid accordingly.
